sudo nano /etc/fstab

Add the following:

/dev/sdb1	/mnt/data	ntfs	defaults	0	0

sudo su

Create root account

sudo passwd root

You will then be prompted for a password for the root account.

For example, instead of

ls a/certain/directory
cd a/certain/directory

Do this:

ls a/certain/directory
cd !$

nano /a/certain/file

returns unauthorized (needs root),

instead of

sudo nano /a/certain/file

you can do
